Dear Mike,
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will come
soon. Dear brother, I have wonderful news
for you. The school building is
almost ready but even so we started Monday April 3, 2006 with the
inauguration
and I had the privilege to do this. The first day the parents were
permitted
to stay and we had a great meeting with them and a wonderful opportunity
to
share the gospel with all of them. Then the second day when the parents
left, the kids started to cry, you can't imagine how! It was necesary for
me and others to go in and help the teachers for a while with the kids.
Today, we still have crying, but we pray that God will help them and that
soon
they will feel at home at school.
Brother, the carpenter has promised me that the building will be ready
before classes start, but he failed. We still don't have the windows in
as you can see on the pictures. But we continue to praise God for you and
for all the CFC group that came and helped us with the majority of the
work.
Today we want to share these pictures with you so you also may enjoy with
us what God is doing.
If it is possible, can you share these pictures and notes on your web page
so all CFC can see them?
I have another question. Are you still working on the possibility to send
a small group in you fall? I will like to hear of this and work with you
in
all these details. Please, continue to pray for more funds to continue
with the construction. At this point it was necesary for me to put a hold
on
the construction, because we are lacking funds to continue.
Brother, I love you, and I'm always thankful to the Lord for bringing you
and CFC to help in His ministry here in Peru. lease, give our love and
greetings to all the members of CFC that were here.
Till all will hear of the Savior,
Juan Barrientos
PD: There is a picture IMG4796; these are the 5 kids that we gave 50%
scholarship. Please, pray for them. Their names are: Diego Antonio,
Paola,
Lucia, Juan Isaías, and Alejandra. Many thanks to all of you that gave
toward this. God's richest blessings be upon you.
The other pictures are of the school, so you can get a glimpse of where
we are on the construction. We still need to put the roof on the second
floor so we can finish the first project scool-offices.

Subject: Development of the school
Dear Mike,
I tried to call you but I couldn't get in touch with you.
How are you doing my brother? Are you know totally recovered from the
trip? I always remember you and the good fellowship we had together.
I'm planning to make a trip in early September and I want to spend most
of my time in South Carolina with you and some of the group that lives
in this area.
These are a new set of pictures on the development of the school. Praise
the Lord!!!!! We are getting ready with the first floor on the first
project which is the school. Please, continue to pray with me for more
funds to finish all the other projects which in these moments are on
hold because of lack of funds. We are eager to see these projects come
to a competition.
My international phone number is 1-251-243-7079. It is just as a long
distant call.
Blessings my brother and greetings to all the staff.
In Christ,

For those who have been hearing about the giant
sinkhole in Guatemala there is good news and bad news. The good news
is that it is not as large as first reported, but 150 feet in diameter
sinkhole is still huge. The bad news is that a friend and sister in
Christ from Shalom Church lost her husband and daughter and son-in-law
as her house disappeared in front of her eyes. For more information
go to our website at

See Honduras for Pictures
Hope all went well for your trip to Trinidad. Catherine and
I were
praying for you. I'm sending a photo of one of our March teams to San
Pedro Sula Honduras and one of some of the boys that now live there.
Things are going great. The vocational training school has classes daily
in carpentry, sewing, auto mechanics and computer skills. The school has
over 200 students from our project and El Carmen learning reading,
writing and arithmetic. Many of the original boys are now in secondary
school and five of them will enroll in college classes next fall! Darlin
had his eye surgery. A surgeon from Virginia on a mission trip performed
the surgery. Darlin's eyes are perfect! He's about 5'7"now and has
become a leader among the boys. Please let Cotton know. Your lockers
remain in service in each of the boys rooms and are much appreciated. At
least two local churches are sending volunteers each week to have Bible
study, games, and crafts. One of our March teams to Honduras was from
Greenville. We'll send you pictures of the center at El Crucero,
Nicaragua this summer. We have two teams headed there in June and
August. They expect to have 24 children living there when we arrive.
There are plans for a free health clinic to be constructed on that site
and an additional dorm. Just thought we'd keep you posted on some
current events. Thanks for all you and CFC do for the Kingdom of God and
children in need. Please give our best regards to the CFC crew.
Blessings,

Beloved ,
October 2007
It has been our privilege to see some of you face to face and
share our lives and ministry that God is doing here in Peru. We regret that with
many of you it has not been a possibility to see you in person. We want to thank
you very much for supporting us and for being part of this work here in Peru.
Our Family…
Here in Peru, October is considered the month of earthquakes.
But, as many of you know, an earthquake hit pretty hard in the month of August.
Eva, Pricilia and I had just left the supermarket and it began to shake the
ground. We knew that it was an earthquake hitting somewhere because of the
length of time that it lasted. Lima did not suffer any damages. The damages
began two hours out of Lima and it repeated for some weeks after as well. We
know that God has control and everything that happens is in His hands, but as
humans we have the fear and insecurity that at any moment another one will hit.
It was a time to look for shelter and the Lord was our shelter. We have been
encouraged by Psalms 27:13:
"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of
our Lord in the land of the living."
September 7 - October 5, we were in the United States to meet
with the directors of World Reach and visit friends and churches. Those days
were a great blessing as a family. It was a physical and emotional rest and a
time of great spiritual teaching. During that time, Priscila turned 6 years old
and that too was very enjoyable. Thanks to everyone that gave us a place to
stay, invited us to eat, gave gifts and received us into your churches. Our
hearts are full of gratitude and worship to God for your lives.
La Roca Church…

The church continued in its activities with our group of
faithful brothers that are the elders of the church. We have seen that two more
families are attending, as well as some young adults, and all are already being
discipled. On October 8, there was a family activity that took place on our
campus. Many people heard the Gospel of Christ and significant decisions were
made.
The seven cell groups of the church are continuing to grow.
There is a lot of enthusiasm in the hearts of our new Christian brothers. They
are bringing their friends and families to the cell groups so that they can hear
the Word of God also. We are thankful to God for the team of missionaries that
faithfully go to minister in those areas and for the families that open the
doors of their homes where the cell groups are located every Friday from 7:00 pm
till 9:00 pm.
La Roca Christian School…
We are two months away from finishing the school year and we
already have parents that are interested in K3 for their kids. Our first
graduation will be December 21, with 16 kids graduating. Included in that group
is our daughter, Priscila. We are very excited and are hoping that around 200
people will attend the event. Pray for the Gospel to be preached and for the
parents and families of the children to receive Christ as their Savior.
We have already built what will be the first and second
grade classrooms, but we still need to put in the tiles, glass for the windows,
and a division to divide the two rooms. We also need to prepare the learning
environment, 2 chalkboards, teachers’ desks, 2 storage lockers and 16 binders
(one for each student). Pray for these needs. If the Lord leads you to help, let
us know.
La Roca Pre-natal Center...
On September 5, we received our official papers from the
Municipal City Hall to open our doors to the community to give counsel and care
for pregnant teenagers in crisis. This ministry will be a non-profit ministry
whose objective is to evangelize, disciple and counsel in order to prevent
abortion and offer a new life. World Reach and La Roca Church will be
supervising and supporting the group of sisters that will be volunteering their
services. My wife, Eva, will be in charge of this ministry. Pray for her to have
wisdom, a compassionate heart for each client, and be able to give a Biblical
answer to each situation. We will open our doors to the community on November 14
and we are sure that God will bring many needy families to this center. Please
pray for salvation and restored lives. Any support that you are willing to give
is more than welcome. Please send it to our mission designated for "Pre-Natal
Center Project". Once again, we want to reaffirm that you have a great part in
this ministry through your prayers and financial support. We would really like
to extend a personal invitation to come and visit us and experience how greatly
God is using you in this ministry. We love you and are praying for you. Thank you
so much for your significant part in this ministry.
Till all will hear of the Savior,

Juan, Eva and Priscila Barrientos

December 8, 2007
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am hoping this year in the Lord has been a good one for
you. God’s mercies and blessings are all around us each day and oh, how we are
reminded of this fact when we travel as a team to different countries with the
Carpenters for Christ. Going places where poverty and lack of opportunity places
its’ curse upon a country and a people who desperately need Jesus Christ as
their Savior and Lord.
In June of 2006 God placed it on my heart to prepare
myself and a team of believers to go to China and minister to the people there
in the city of Beijing in 2008. Since then, my excitement level has intensified
as well as the logistics of planning this mission and developing a strategy of
service that will glorify the Lord.
I believe God has opened the doors of this communist
country to not only allow many seeds to be planted in the hearts of these
beautiful people, but also to reap a harvest that will add to the storehouse of
souls that will be a part of the Lord’s eternal kingdom. Our church, Trinity
Baptist, hosts a Chinese Fellowship that meets in our building. Their pastor,
Keh-Min Chang, will be assisting us through the process of this mission and
because of this God has opened many doors already in preparation for July of
2008.
Pastor Chang’s sister is the founder of the First Christian
Bookstore in China and is a brave warrior for Jesus in the battle to win souls
in China. She has since opened two other stores in other parts of China and
continues to press on unafraid of presenting the gospel.
Our mission will take place in the second week of July
2008 and will last eleven days. We will be teaching English as a second language
in these bookstores as well as in open parks throughout Beijing. Through
relationships developed in this setting, we are praying for God to open up the
hearts of those we are teaching to accept the truths of Gods’ Word as we present
it to them.
Each year brother Mike Ravan writes us a letter and tells
us where our next mission trip will be with the Carpenters for Christ. His main
point above all in each of those letters is the need and importance of prayer
and how it can make the mission a blessed one.
More than anything else, my wife Christine and I
desperately need prayer warriors to go before us as we travel to and minister in
this communist country that sits on the other side of the world.
We are so thankful to have met each and every one of you
in your service to the Lord over the years. You have been a blessing to my wife
and me. We can’t make it this year to the Dominican Republic, but if the Lord
wills it, we will see all of you on the next one.
Here are some needs that are set before us as we approach
our mission to Beijing.
 | Please pray that the Lord will prepare the hearts of the
Chinese people we will encounter and be teaching. |
 | Please pray for Christine’s and my health and safety as
well as God’s wisdom as we travel about this country. |
 | Please pray about the possibility of supporting us in
any way financially if the Lord places it upon your heart. |
In His service only,
Jamie and Christine
