Nicaragua 2003 |
| During February 2003 members
of Carpenters For Christ traveled to El Crucero, Nicaragua to
help construct a building which would serve as an orphanage complex and be
operated by "Chosen Children Ministries," then headquartered in
Collegedale, TN. The ministry moved it's headquarters to Inman, SC
in 2004. Although the task was not completed, we did manage to get
the exterior and interior walls up and prepared for roofing.
Since that time the roof has been installed and a security wall built
around the structure. The facility is near total completion and will
house several children.
The structure is located next to a public school and we were able to minister to those children and their needs during the construction process. Displayed below is a gallery of photos taken during this trip. Some show the work as it was being done, some show the children of the school and community being ministered to and others show the orphanage building. Chosen Children Ministries never housed any children in this facility. In the late part of 2004 this facility was acquired by Feed The Children Ministries, an organization operating world wide from Oklahoma City, Ok. This facility will also serve as a food distribution center for Central America. Click on a photo to enlarge |
